Ellenroad Engine House' is a national historic monument, and the trust is the legal guardian of the site. The building exhibits and organises the monthly steaming days when the Engine House is open to the public. It accommodated 99,756 mule spindles made by Platts of Oldham with drawing frames and carding machines. Light refreshments are available at the Engine House cafe. There is a picnic area with seating for your convenience. It affords free admission, and parking.
