JOHNSTONE CASTLE

Johnstone Castle is a 16th-century tower house. It has undergone a truly remarkable period restoration complying with modern building control standards and regulations, with features including top standard insulation, as well as new double glazed windows. It lies south of the town centre and is home to around 5,000 people making it the largest of Johnstone's housing estates. The historic town of Johnstone was a planned community which grew up around the House. Recreational facilities in the area include golf courses such as Kilmacolm, Ranfurly Caste Old Ranfurly, Cochrane Castle as well as the famous Ayrshire links courses at Prestwick and Troon.
