The Great North Museum Hancock' was founded in 1884 as a natural history museum in Newcastle to house the Natural History Society of Northumbria's growing collections. The gallery Living Planet spans the museum's ground and first floor and tells wildlife and habitat stories. It also features ponds and aquariums for live animals. The Museum also holds temporary exhibitions and a range of free events, from children's activities to lectures and evening events. Showing the wonder and diversity of the animal and plant kingdoms, spectacular objects from the Ancient Greeks and much more.
