The Platt fields park has three dedicated show fields which have a supporting infrastructure for large scale national and small scale and local events. The main feature of the park was the construction of a lake and island that covers a little over 6 acres. The grounds contain Platt Hall, home to Manchester's Costume Gallery, which is free and open to the public.
