Silk Museum and Paradise Mill take you back to the manufacturing history of the Cheshire on a trip. Visitors can learn and experience the path from the cocoon to the loom through the industrial process of silk-making. The museum houses a permanent exhibition that explores the properties of silk, design education, Macclesfield's diverse textile industries, workers' lives, during the war, and historical machinery, as well as temporary exhibitions. The exhibition explores both well-observed pictures of the early 20th century rural Macclesfield and its later commercial successes.
