Watergate Forest Park provides a haven for wildlife and a great recreational site for visitors. This forest park is one of the Gateshead's Premier sites. The 1.4-mile circular walk around the lake offers a great opportunity to see the wildlife that lives in the park. The 3 mile Watergate and Washingwell Wander route takes to the views of natural and historic features as well as the sculptures along the way. The park is famous for its wetlands, woodlands, wildflower meadows, and recreational routes for people with disabilities.
