Sciennes Primary School first opened its doors in 1892.It serves the communities of the Grange, Sciennes, and Mayfield on Edinburgh's south side, and is adjacent to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children.The school is non-denominational and co-educational.The majority of housing in the catchment area is owner-occupied, with only a small number of association homes.There are 23 classes with a total of 665 students.15% of our students are bilingual, and about 20% of our students come from outside of our catchment area.The Sciennes family's wonderful diversity is something we celebrate and value.
