Gina Campbell and her husband Steve founded Pocklington Music on September 1, 1999, as a music school and retail shop.The original shop was in a small parade of shops in Pocklington's Pavement, directly across from the church.The business grew, and in 2003, the retail side was sold to Christopher Gledhill, a guitar and banjo tutor.Gina continued to operate her music school from above the shop.Chris was dealt a devastating blow soon after taking over the shop when the town was flooded, and the shop was forced to close for several weeks due to water damage.This was not the town's first brush with disaster; it had been plagued throughout history, most notably during the Great Flood of 1932.
