Eastgate and Eastgate Clock is the second most recorded clock in the UK after Big Ben, is one of Chester's most famous landmarks. The Eastgate clock was a subsequent contribution to Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897. The first gate secured by a timber tower replaced by a stone tower in the 2nd century and replaced in the 14th century. The entire structure, gateway and clock were identified as a grade I listed building.
