In 1907, a Mr. William Taylor was working as a fried fish supplier, according to records.The chip shop was renamed Yorkshire Fisheries after it survived two world wars and has retained the name to this day.George and Val Vasiliou bought the shop in 1989 and maintained its reputation as the best chippy in town.When they decided to retire in 2005, George's niece and husband took over the business, with the goal of maintaining the same high quality and standard.The current owners continue to strive to serve the best fish and chips in the area, winning numerous awards including the NFFF Quality Award, Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence, and the Gold Taste of Lancashire Award.
