BASING HOUSE

description

Basing House' is the nationally significant ruins and grounds of Tudor England's largest private house suffered during the English Civil War by Oliver Cromwell. It explores the ruins and visualises the feel of the home from the viewing platforms, and you can visit the walled garden that explores the museum's fascinating history of Basing House. They have a coffee or ice cream at the visitor centre and pick up the activity trail of the Basing Mouse. Great place for a picnic, especially in their walled garden which features a recreated Jacobean Knot garden and their new 'Lady of the House' garden. Free admission for children under 5 yrs. The house is Guide dogs friendly.
